Textile is the markup that is used with Textpattern. Like most markup its easy to use and get started with – there’s no need to study in advance!
When writing new material in Textpattern, the window you type into has textile prompts down the side of the screen which is really helpful. There is also a link to a more in-depth helper page at http://textism.com/tools/textile/
